The Instructor Becomes The Student
In which the 737 Captain becomes a 787 Captain
Almost 20 years since his last type rating, and 8 years after his last Flight Instructor rating, Captain Mike recently completed training on the Boeing 787.
What’s involved with learning to fly a new airplane on this scale? And what does this have to do with flying little airplanes?
As a flight instructor specializing in IFR operations, this change of perspective illuminates the importance of always staying in a Student Pilot mind set. This process may be instructive and interesting for the general aviation pilot too.
